June 2000

The hot air of Phoenix, Arizona had settled in.  I bought my first digital camera, a 2mp Sony CyberShot, and I was immediately hooked!  On June 7, 2000, the best day of my life, our beloved Alexander Jefferson Buell joined our family.  I remember life being much slower in June 2000 than it was before or after; a good kind of slow.  Work was reasonable, I was working on my MBA but had a small break in the schedule, I spent most of my time with Debbie, Connor, and baby Alex.  Each night, I took our sweet puppy, Bo Bo, on walks to Lookout Mountain Park while I thought of my Dad, who had passed about 20-months prior, my life and the responsibilities that were now upon me.  I remember the beautiful smells of June, the lantana flower and sage brush and the new baby smell of Alex when I held him in my arms at night while he slept.  What a magical time!!!
