I've really loved having our garden this summer. I was a bit concerned because I went to Hawaii for several weeks in June & July but Alex really did a great job keeping it watered and cared for.
Gardening is not for the feint of heart in Colorado - typically we have a heavy snow in late May, June is a little chilly initially, there are major storms and hail that wrecks things in July and what the heck, throw in a huge snowstorm in September - all of it makes for an extremely short growing season; that our back yard doesn't get much sun adds to the challenges.
May and early June were warm and rainy this year. No big hail storms that did a bunch of crop damage and so far, no big snow storms in the Autumn - we've been pulling a lot of good vegetables and herbs out of the garden about every three days for well over a month and are planting some winter crops as well.
I'll spend some more time here talking about gardening and my approach - I'm still learning a ton as this is only my second year with a garden, but it has truly been enjoyable and Debbie is really into it as well, which is a bonus!
